MÜLLER WISEMAN DAIRIES CONFIRMS REVIEW OF OPERATIONAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE EFFICIENCIES
Müller Wiseman Dairies has confirmed that it is to begin statutory consultations on the future of its distribution depots at Keith and Whitburn as part of a review of operational and administrative efficiencies throughout the business.
The Company will work closely with employees and USDAW union representatives during the formal consultation processes, which affect 25 posts at Keith and 116 posts at the Whitburn depot. A further 15 administrative and management roles are under review elsewhere in the Company.
Müller Wiseman Dairies has stressed that in the event of depot closures, some employees will be offered the opportunity to transfer to distribution roles at the Company’s Aberdeen and Cambuslang depots, at which up to 103 posts could be created.
Carl Ravenhall, Managing Director at Müller Wiseman Dairies said:
“We have an excellent network of distribution depots which provide exceptional service but we must adapt to changes in the requirements being made of us by customers, with larger volumes of milk increasingly being delivered to regional distribution centres instead of individual stores.
“We operate in a very competitive environment and it is important that our structure reflects the current and future needs of the business. It is right that we
properly review our network, taking into account the views of our employees and their representatives.”
After the 45 day consultation periods with colleagues and their representatives end, the Company will then work to complete its strategic reviews before arriving at any decisions.
