Freshnlo bring the team spirit to Pedal for Scotland for fifth year running

Müller Wiseman Dairies’ colleagues and friends, dubbed “Team freshnlo”, cut an impressive sight on the start line for yesterday’s fantastic freshnlo Pedal for Scotland bike ride in Glasgow Green.

Over 150 keen cyclists from Müller Wiseman Dairies donned their cow-print freshnlo cycling tops and set off first, launching the 47 mile Challenge Ride to Edinburgh and encouraging everyone else to get moo-ving! Team freshnlo were also awarded with two accolades on the day by event organisers Cycling Scotland - Biggest Corporate Team and Best Dressed Team - those cow-print cycling tops really made an impression!

Müller Wiseman Dairies Managing Director and proud Team freshnlo member Carl Ravenhall said: “This was the largest team we’ve ever entered and we were the biggest team to take part on the day overall – something I’m very proud of!

“We’re delighted to sponsor freshnlo Pedal for Scotland, and this year, with 150 colleagues taking part from our dairies and depots up and down the country, there really was an air of inspiring team spirit that pushed us all over the finish line.

“Everyone had an absolute ball. This was my first ever freshnlo Pedal for Scotland and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Cycling is a great way to stay in shape and it was a fantastic opportunity to get out and see some of the magnificent scenery along the route!

The day saw over 8,000 complete Scotland’s biggest bike ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh, making it the largest one yet. Since freshnlo began sponsoring Pedal for Scotland five years ago, this number has risen/doubled from just 5,000, and the event continues to grow from strength to strength.

Along the route, riders were treated to chilled cartons of delicious freshnlo at the many rest stops to keep them going, and even the magnificent freshnlo hot air balloon made an appearance at Drumpellier Country Park.

Sandy Wilkie, Müller Wiseman Sales and Marketing Director said: “As the UK’s first semi-skimmed milk, freshnlo has always been associated with health and nutrition, and has been a family favourite in fridges since its launch in 1981.

“We were thrilled to support freshnlo Pedal for Scotland once again, now in its fifteenth year, and our involvement continues to make perfect sense as freshnlo is not only delicious but nutritious too.”
